THE HEART OF BNSPIRED

Be the bridge
to someone’s
next step.

Helping goes beyond what we can physically provide.

BNspired is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

BNspired began in 2020 during the pandemic with a simple desire to help our neighbors. Today, that care takes the form of food, clothing, everyday essentials, and connections to organizations that can help meet needs beyond our own capacity.

We believe giving should preserve dignity, education should encourage, and kindness should be something people can put into action.

“Even when we can’t meet a need directly, we can help connect you to someone who can.”

MEET THE FOUNDER

Dee Dillard

Founder of BNspired

Dee Dillard, founder of BNspired, wearing a black-and-gold outfit with her braids in an updo.
“I was inspired to take action, and I wanted to inspire others to help each other, too.”

My desire to help others began with the values my mother raised me on: care for people, help each other, and put compassion into action.

In 2020, during COVID, I saw those values take on a new purpose. People were stuck at home, struggling to access groceries and everyday essentials. I saw it on the news and in my own backyard, and I felt moved to do something.

When people began sharing where hard-to-find supplies were available online, I realized I had the resources to order them. I created an online ordering site where individuals could purchase the products they needed, and I would deliver them. This helped homebound seniors get essentials without leaving their homes.

I then began visiting drive-up food banks to collect groceries for people who needed them. Step by step, that effort grew into BNspired.

The name reflects why I started: I was inspired to take action, and I wanted to inspire others to help each other, too.

Today, that same purpose guides our community table, food and essential-item distributions, and connections to community resources. Through BNspired, I carry forward the values my mother instilled in me—meeting people where they are and serving with compassion, dignity, and care.

My hope is that each act of kindness meets a need and inspires someone else to take action.

OUR BEGINNINGS

Where It Began

In the early days of BNspired’s community table, there was a folding table, a handwritten cardboard sign, and a desire to help. I set out food, clothing, and shoes so neighbors could take what they needed.

It was simple, but it was intentional: meet people where they are and share what I could. As BNspired grows, that same purpose remains at the heart of the work.

BEHIND THE GIVING

Care begins
before the table.

Every item has a journey before it reaches a neighbor.

Donations are sorted and inspected. Clothing is rewashed. Food is organized, pickups are coordinated, and items are prepared for sharing with neighbors and other organizations.

BNspired also shares lessons from this work: community-giving etiquette, the joys and challenges of giving, and the everyday effort behind it all. Our goal is to educate and inspire while continuing to serve.

YOU CAN BE PART OF THE BRIDGE
